Requiem: Requiem (2020) adopts the form of a Ouija Board and translates the medium of communication with the beyond into the world of music. In Meyers’ version, numbers and letters are replaced by the symbols of modern Western music notation, and instead of “Yes” and “No,” the musical modes Major and Minor are available. What does it mean to compose? Is it an act of inspiration or rather of chance?
