Ausschreibung für Musiker:innen – An den Grenzen des Pulses (Maifestspiele Wiesbaden 2026)
- Über das Projekt und den Kontext
An den Grenzen des Pulses ist ein interdisziplinäres Projekt, das offiziell für die Internationalen Maifestspiele Wiesbaden 2026 ausgewählt wurde. Das Projekt wird im Rahmen des Programms „Freiräume – Projektstipendium Internationale Maifestspiele“ der Landeshauptstadt Wiesbaden und des Hessischen Staatstheaters gefördert. Dieses Stipendium unterstützt freie Künstler:innen, bietet infrastrukturelle Rahmenbedingungen, Sichtbarkeit und eine Präsenz im offiziellen Festivalprogramm.
Das etwa 40-minütige Werk untersucht den Herzschlag als klangliches Phänomen und als Metapher für kollektive Synchronisation. Die Komposition verbindet ein Instrumentalensemble mit Live-Elektronik, Video und einer Klanginstallation bestehend aus Objekten, die durch ein wachsendes Archiv aufgezeichneter Herzschläge aktiviert werden.
Die Uraufführung findet am 29. Mai 2026 statt und wird von einer Objektausstellung vom 20. bis 31. Mai 2026 in Wiesbaden begleitet.
- Ausschreibung für Musiker:innen
Für die Realisierung der Komposition suchen wir Musiker:innen mit Erfahrung in zeitgenössischer Musik / Neuer Musik.
Gesuchte Instrumente:
- Geige
- Bratsche
- Klarinette
- Saxophon (Sopran oder Bariton)
- Kontrabass
Die ausgewählten Musiker:innen nehmen an vorbereitenden Proben teil und wirken beim Konzert im Rahmen der Internationalen Maifestspiele 2026 mit.
Das Projekt richtet sich an Musiker:innen, die Interesse an Klangforschung sowie an der Interaktion zwischen Körper und Technologie haben.
- Voraussetzungen
Die Bewerber:innen sollten:
- Erfahrung in der Interpretation zeitgenössischer oder experimenteller Musik mitbringen,
- mit Live-Elektronik, Click-Tracks und Verstärkungssystemen vertraut sein,
- im Mai 2026 für Proben zur Verfügung stehen.

- Werkdauer: ca. 40 Minuten
- Proben: werden gemeinsam mit den beteiligten Musiker:innen im Mai terminiert
- Partitur: Bereitstellung Mitte April
- Uraufführung: 29. Mai 2026 (Uhrzeit wird noch bestätigt)
- Ort: Kunsthaus Wiesbaden – Aula, Schulberg 10, 65183 Wiesbaden
- Teilnahme & Honorar
- Für die Mitwirkung wird ein Honorar gezahlt.
- Das Projekt ist Teil des offiziellen Programms der Maifestspiele und bietet hohe Sichtbarkeit sowie namentliche Nennung im Programmheft.

- About the project and context
An den Grenzen des Pulses is an interdisciplinary project officially selected for the Internationale Maifestspiele Wiesbaden 2026. It is supported by the “Freiräume – Project Grant of the Internationale Maifestspiele”, funded by the City of Wiesbaden and the Hessisches Staatstheater. This program supports independent artists based in Wiesbaden and provides infrastructure, visibility, and inclusion in the official festival program.
The approximately 40-minute work explores the heartbeat as a sonic phenomenon and as a metaphor for collective synchronization. The composition integrates instrumental ensemble writing, live electronics, video, and a sound installation made of objects activated through an expanding archive of recorded heartbeats.
The premiere will take place on 29 May 2026, accompanied by an object installation presented from 20–31 May 2026 in Wiesbaden.
- Call for musicians
We are seeking musicians with experience in contemporary music / Neue Musik to collaborate on this interdisciplinary performance.
Instruments required:
- Violin
- Viola
- Clarinet
- Saxophone (soprano or baritone)
- Double bass
Selected musicians will participate in rehearsals and perform in the premiere at the International Maifestspiele festival 2026.
The project is aimed at musicians who are interested in sound exploration and in the interaction between the body and technology.
- Requirements
Applicants should:
- Have experience performing contemporary or experimental music,
- Be comfortable working with live electronics, click tracks, and amplification systems,
- Be available for rehearsals in May 2026.

- Rehearsals: scheduled with the ensemble in May
- Score delivery: mid-April
- Premiere performance: 29 May 2026 (time to be confirmed)
